As part of our Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) program, students have the opportunity to learn and hone their food preparation skills. Our teachers, Mrs. Flaker and Mrs. Qasabian, are always looking for ways to expand on these skills and introduce new recipes for students to attempt. This year, our FCS program received a food service grant from the Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) for the purchase of pork to be used in various culinary recipes. So far, our students have created pork tenderloin, ground pork quesadillas, bacon cheddar cheese pierogies, and ground pork pasta sauce. We can't wait to see what else they create!
Thank you to the IPPA for this generous grant and for helping us to expand cooking opporunities for our students!
