The Grant Community High School October Student of the Month is senior Camron Hinkle, son of Fred and Holly Hinkle of Fox Lake.
Camron's academic achievements include induction into the National Honor Society during his sophomore year and he has earned his place on Honor Roll each semester. He has completed five Advanced Placement courses and is enrolled in another four AP classes. He has won two distinguished artist awards and holds an impressive 4.96/4.00 GPA.
His extracurricular activities include serving as a National Art Honor Society officer for three of his four years of service including President this year and he also holds the office of President of the Student Athletic Activity Leadership Team (S.A.A.L.T.). He is in Film Club, Boys’ Track, and a member and designer for the Portrait of a Graduate/Teacher committee.
Camron has volunteered through NHS helping with Graduation, Back to School Night, Material Pickup days, and the Northern Illinois Food Bank. He assists his peers as a Big Dawg Mentor and enjoys speaking at assemblies and on Team Live.
In addition to all of his activities, Camron works at Menards and The Home Depot. In his spare time, he enjoys drawing, digital media, running, and cooking.
His plans for the future include attending the College of Lake County for two years and transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Madison or the University of Michigan to major in User Experience Design with a minor in Computer Science.
