The Grant Community High School March Student of the Month is senior Connor Rada, son of Joseph and Sharon Rada of Lakemoor.
Connor's academic achievements include earning his place on Honor Roll, successfully completing three AP classes, receiving the AP Scholar Award, and holding an impressive 4.766 GPA.
His extracurricular activities include FBLA, serving as Treasurer, earning an 8th place finish at the National Competition in 2018 and 9th place in 2019; Debate Team, where he is Co-Captain, 3-time Best Presiding Officer award winner, and State tournament participant; Theatre Tech as soundboard lead and stage manager; and he attended World Affairs Seminar, NLCC Leadership Conference, and completed a Summer Technology Internship. He assists his peers as a Big Dawg Mentor and Math Lab Tutor.
Connor has been involved in Boy Scouts and is an Eagle Scout. He volunteers at St. Bede Church helping with the food truck, annual gala, and St. Bede School, Gavin School, Nunda Township Food Pantry, Big Hollow Garden, and Bulldog Boosters concession stand. He’s also served as an election judge.
In addition to all of his activities, Connor works at Walmart, helping customers with product selection, store inventory, and stocking shelves. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, investing, and studying current events.
His plans for the future include earning an Accounting degree and he is exploring Indiana University-Bloomington and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
