March Student of the Month ~ Danielle Osmon

Danielle Osmon - March Student of the Month The Grant Community High School March Student of the Month is senior Danielle Osmon, daughter of James and Dawn Osmon of Lake Villa.

Danielle's academic achievements include induction into the National Honor Society in her sophomore year, she has earned her place on Scholars’ List every semester, and named Scholar Athlete.  She has taken five AP classes and has taken five AP exams and scored qualified to extremely well qualified on them.  She also scored 1500 on the SAT and holds an extraordinary GPA of 5.265.

Her extracurricular activities include Student Council where she serves as Secretary and she is a Big Dawg Mentor.  She participates in Cross Country where she earned MVP during freshman and sophomore year, All-County, All-Conference, All-Sectional, and All-State, and Track & Field where she was named Newcomer of the Year, MVP, All-County, All-Conference, All-Sectional, and Captain during sophomore and junior years.

Danielle helped prepare the Fox Lake Community Garden, volunteered at the NHS spaghetti dinner, Fox Lake/Round Lake Rotary Christmas party, and the Grayslake Adaptive Sports Association annual 5K.  She informed peers about anti-bullying and PBIS at the Health and Wellness fair and ran a booth at the NIU STEM Fair.

In addition to all of her activities, Danielle enjoys long-distance running, volunteering with kids’ activities and sports, reading novels, and baking.

Her plans for the future include earning a degree in biology and a master’s degree to work as a physician’s assistant.  She is evaluating several universities.
