Fire and Emergency Services: (Freshmen thru Seniors)
Fox Lake Fire Department Explorer Post 2200
Fox Lake Fire Dept. Explorers is a national program for students ages 14-20 years old. All Fox Lake Fire Dept. Explorers receive class room instruction with hands on training. The training consists of both firefighting skills and emergency medical training. A ride-along program enables each explorer first hand knowledge of the fire services. Explorers meet every Wednesday, 7 p.m., at the Fox Lake Fire Department, Station 2, 306 Washington Street, Ingleside. The contact person is Katie Neulist (847) 587-3312.  Students interested in the career field of firefighter, paramedics, emergency medical technician may join and gain insight and practical experience in the fire service career.  Currently accepting new explorers, space is limited.

Trade Associations: (Juniors and Seniors)
In apprenticeship training – “You Earn While Your Learn.” Most trade associations are taught a skill and receive on the job training at the same time. When you complete the apprenticeship you are called a “Journeyman”. Representatives from the Electrical Union, Plumbers Union, and the Carpenters Union visit GCHS students are invited to attend these meetings to assist them in deciding a program of interest.
