Mental Health Awareness

Our Parent University event on Wednesday, December 4, will focus on an important topic affecting children, teens, and families today—mental health. We will be screening the documentary Anxious Nation, followed by a panel discussion with GCHS experts in the field. All staff members, parents, and community members are invited to attend.

Date: Wednesday, December 4, 2024
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Location: Auditorium

Anxious Nation explores the growing anxiety epidemic among youth in the United States and offers valuable insights into how families can better support their children through these challenges. The documentary presents a compelling look at the rising rates of anxiety in young people, the impact on families, and the social pressures contributing to these mental health struggles.

After the film, we will host a panel discussion and share strategies for managing anxiety, promoting mental wellness, and building resilience in children and teens.

Objectives:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the mental health challenges facing today’s youth
  • Learn effective tools for supporting your child’s emotional well-being
  • Connect with other parents and community members who share your concerns
  • Have your questions answered by school professionals during the panel discussion

Whether you’re seeking advice or simply looking to learn more about this important issue, we hope you’ll join us for this impactful event.
