High School 101 for Parents
The first program of the year, “High School 101,” is geared specifically for parents and guardians of incoming freshmen. High School 101 is intended to answer a lot of questions about what high school is like, especially here in Bulldog Country. Please note that the evening event is for parents and guardians only, your students will have learned the information during their orientation program.
High School 101 will be held on the evening of Wednesday, August 7. This event is being held in the evening of the same day that your student will be attending our Freshmen Orientation program. Hopefully by attending this evening event for parents, you will be able to have a great discussion with your student about the next four years of schooling. The evening will start with sign-ins between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium lobby. At 6:30 p.m., there will be a presentation for everyone in the auditorium about Grant Community High School. After that, parents will be split up into groups to hear four more presentations (see below):
High School 101 Sessions
- Grant Technology for Parents: Programs and Devices
- Tools for Your Bulldog’s Success: Student Services and Counseling Information
- Keeping It Red: Deans and PBIS Discuss the Handbook Information, and Celebrate Keeping It Red

- The Grand Tour of GCHS (optional)
