- A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes
- Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)
- More whole grains
- And less sodium
Grant High School has gone Meatless on Mondays! Studies have indicated by not choosing to eat meat on Mondays it can lead to making healthier food decisions throughout the week. Decreasing meat consumption for just one day a week results in a significant reduction of our carbon footprint. It helps decrease the possibility of having heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity and cancer. The food choices we make not only have a huge impact on our bodies but have a greater impact on the sustainability of the environment. Look for the featured Meatless dish every other Monday in our own Grant cafeteria! Way to go Bulldogs for taking action on making a healthier and more sustainable planet!
