Description
-
This activity provides the opportunity for students to learn the fundamentals of structuring, sourcing, and of course debating a wide variety of topics and arguments. Members can participate in multiple debate formats including: Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas, or Congressional.
All students in good academic standing are eligible to join.
Benefits of Debate:
The Debate Team will motivate students to stay current on important issues relevant in the United States and the world today. Students who are especially interested in Social Studies and English should give Debate a try as there is so much to be gained: scholarships, college admissions, higher test scores, college preparation, communication skills. There is also the benefit of being apart of a team that practices, competes, and has tons of fun together and all at the same time.See http://www.nflonline.org/uploads/AboutNFL/standards2.pdf for more details.
