2013 Inductees

Grant Community High School is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Fritz Kazlausky (Class of 1957) and Mr. Ron Hoehne (Class of 1974) as the first inductees to the Alumni Hall of Fame.

Mr. Ron Hoehne

Mr. Ron Hoehne is an alumnus who takes pride in his school and in his community.  He is a graduate of the Class of 1974.  During high school, he was a member of the baseball and basketball teams and continues to be close to his many teammates and coaches.  He was also a student aide in the audio visual department, the kitchen, and in the main office.

 

Ron started his career in the Public Works Department for the Village of Fox Lake.  He continued his education in firefighter and paramedic school.  After becoming a firefighter, he quickly moved up the ranks.  He served as Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, and then Chief of the Fox Lake Fire Department.  Ron has many achievements, but is very proud to have earned the title of Firefighter of the Year.  He is a dedicated family man who is committed to Grant Community High School and the Village of Fox Lake.  

Mr. Fritz Kazlausky

Mr. Fritz Kazlausky was a student-athlete that graduated with the Class of 1957.  He had an outstanding high school career in football, basketball, and baseball.  Upon graduation, he continued his education at the University of Wisconsin Stout where he excelled on the baseball team.  He returned to Grant Community High School where he was a faculty member for thirty-two years.  He coached multiple sports over more than forty years here at Grant and continues to coach baseball.

Mr. Kazlausky was inducted into the Illinois Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1985, the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2003, and was honored by the American Baseball Coaches Association for his service to baseball.  

Both inductees have achieved distinction in their profession and in their community.  We wish to recognize both individuals for their loyalty and commitment to their alma mater, Grant Community High School.
