Hall of Fame

Grant Community High School Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame was established in January 2013, to honor exemplary graduates who achieved distinction, outstanding accomplishment or significant contribution within their professions, communities, schools, families, or personal lives.  The individuals recognized provide positive role models, and promote excellence and achievement for our students.

Over the course of the past several months, administration, faculty, coaches, and representatives of the community have met several times to discuss the possibility of expanding Hall of Fame recognition to include Grant Community High School faculty and staff.  As a part of this process, we researched the practices of other high schools, contacted current inductees to solicit feedback, and held public discussion at a Board of Education meeting.

There was unanimous support among all stakeholders to expand the scope of recognition.  The Board of Education took action on September 13th to rename the Grant Community High School Alumni Hall of Fame to the Grant Community High School Hall of Fame.  We will consider nominations for any deserving candidates that have achieved distinction and contributed richly to the history of Grant.

The criteria for alumni has not changed and graduates are eligible for consideration ten years after the year in which they graduated.  Staff members are eligible for consideration if they have a minimum of twenty years of service to the district provided they are either retired or have ceased active employment at least three years prior to the year in which they are nominated.  Nomination information and forms may be found below.

We are very excited to expand the scope of recognition, while at the same time closely regarding the significance of this honor.

Inductees will be asked to take part in several homecoming activities, including a reception in their honor with the District 124 Board of Education, being recognized at an all-school pep assembly, homecoming football game and the homecoming parade.

Nominations will be accepted for the Hall of Fame, Class of 2024, until April 22, 2024.  Please see the “Nomination Information” and “Nomination Form” below for more details or by calling (847) 973-3414.  Nominations remain on file for consideration for a period of five years.
