Table Tennis Description
The GCHS table tennis club unofficially started in the winter of 2015. We are players that have a love and fascination with the sport of table tennis. Ping pong is typically a non-competitive sport that is played in one's home with unspecified rules. While many are used to pushing a ball in an offensive pace with the occasional slap at the ball to try to win the point faster, table tennis is an art where players not just push the ball, but apply spin to throw off their opponent, while mixing in both offensive and defensive shots.

The first GCHS table tennis tournament was a great success! There were a total of 14 competators fighting for 5 medals. Winners included Michael Sullivan (1st), Mustafa Ahmed (2nd), John Schmidt (3rd), and Dominic Asciutto (5th). The top staff member was Mr. Laubenstein who was defeated by Michael Sullivan in the championship round. In the spring there will be a second table tennis tournament around February 24th and the table tennis club hopes to see even more competators there!
