March Student of the Month ~ Omid Navidzadeh

March Student of the Month The Grant Community High School March Student of the Month is senior Omid Navidzadeh, son of Andrew and Jasmine Navidzadeh of Volo.

Omid's academic achievements include induction into the National Honor Society and qualifying for Honor Roll, Scholars’ List, and Academic Top 10.  He scored an impressive 34 on his ACT and 5s on his AP Calculus BC and US History tests.  His outstanding 5.229/4.0 GPA places him 4th in his class of 482 seniors.

He is very involved in many aspects of Grant.  He has been a 4-year member of Cross Country, earning MVP in 2015 and All-Conference honors in 2016; Track and Field, where he was named three times All-Conference and All Lake County, and is a Captain.  Three years with FBLA, there he serves as secretary; he competed for three years on Math Team, where he was a state qualifier in 2016; and he contributed in Student Council. 

Omid participated in community service opportunities with National Honor Society and FBLA.  He has also enjoyed being a Big Dawg Mentor.

In addition to all of his Grant activities, Omid enjoys math, running, swimming, hiking, and kayaking.

His plans for the future include earning a degree in either Aerospace Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.  He is currently exploring his university options.
