Boys Basketball
The Grant Boys Basketball team won their own Holiday Tournament, going 4-0 over the week. The Bulldogs defeated Round Lake, Johnsburg, and McHenry in pool play to advance to the Championship game where Lakes High School was already waiting. In one of the most thrilling games of the tournament, Grant defeated Lakes 65-62 in a huge, come from behind victory in a game where they trailed the Eagles by 22 points in the 2nd Half. The Bulldogs finished the last 10 minutes of the game on a 32-7 run. Jared Helmich was named the Tournament's Most Valuable Player, and was joined on the All-Tournament team by his teammates Ilya Kadushin, Sean Wells, and Allen Lewis.

The Varsity Boys Basketball went 3-1 to earn 3rd place in the Johnsburg/Richmond-Burton Thanksgiving Tournament this past week. On Tuesday, the Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker to Rockford Harlem by the score of 53-55. After losing their first game, the Bulldogs rattled off 3 consecutive wins, beating Marengo 75-49, Johnsburg 73-48, and Grayslake North 63-49. Allen Lewis and Sean Wells were named to the All-Tournament team, while the entire team dominated the boards and paint throughout the tournament.
The Bulldogs start North Suburban Conference Prairie Division play next Friday, December 2, when they travel to play the Warhawks of North Chicago. The Sophomore team plays at 6 pm, and the Varsity game begins at 7:30 pm.
