CONCERT CHOIR COMPETES IN IHSA ORGANIZATIONAL STATE MUSIC CONTEST
On April 14, Grant’s Concert Choir competed in the IHSA Organizational State Music Contest at Grayslake North High School. This contest is for large music ensembles such as choirs, bands and orchestras. Each ensemble must perform a short program of prepared pieces. The performance is rated by a panel of judges, and each ensemble is given a Division Rating of 1-5 (1 being the highest). We are proud to report that the Concert Choir received a Division 1 rating for their performance! Congratulations!

Anthem Singers
A choral ensemble dedicated to the performance of the National Anthem at school athletic events, concerts, and community events throughout the year. Membership is by audition only. Auditions are by appointment throughout the year.
All students in good standing are eligible to audition.
Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays from 7:30-7:55am in the Choir Room.

Barbershop Ensemble
All-male a cappella vocal ensemble. No audition is required. The Barbershop Ensemble performs many different styles of music in 4-part harmony. This ensemble performs at all music department concerts, Grant’s annual Festival of the Stars, and in many community events throughout the year.
All students in good standing are eligible to join.
Meeting Schedule: Wednesday and Friday from 3:00-4:30pm in the Choir Room.

Chamber Singers
One of the premier vocal ensembles at Grant. Membership is by audition only. Auditions are held during the second week of school and also the week after Winter Break. The Chamber Singers performa wide variety of music ranging from Renaissance Madrigals to current “Top 40 hits.” This ensemble performs at all music department concerts and also at many community events throughout the year.
All students in good standing are eligible to audition.
