2011 - 2012 Band Calendar

Jazz Band
Jazz Band is extra-curricular and is open to students who have the interest and ability, who are good standing members in the band program and who demonstrate good self-discipline. The Jazz Band performs music in diverse styles of the jazz idiom including swing, rock, funk, Latin, fusion and pop at various venues throughout the school year.
Students enrolled in Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Percussion, or Honors Band participate.

Marching Band
The Marching Band is a co-curricular ensemble that performs at all home football games, several marching competitions, 4th of July Parade, Homecoming Parade and Grant Pep Rallies. The Marching Band rehearses throughout the summer as well as in the evenings during the school year.
Students enrolled in one of the following courses make up the marching band: Beginning Band, Symphonic and Honors Winds, and Symphonic and Honors Percussion.

Pep Band
The Pep Band is an extracurricular ensemble that performs at Friday night home basketball games.
Students enrolled in Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Percussion, or Honors Band are eligible to participate.

Pit Orchestra
An extra-curricular ensemble that prepares and performs the instrumental accompaniment for the annual GCHS musical production.  The number of students involved varies dependent on the instrumentation necessary for each musical. 
Students enrolled in Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Percussion, or Honors Band are eligible to participate.
